Here is what I have read...
My personal opinion is that EA can't keep the ranking system going forever. It costs them a lot of cash to keep it running. If BF:3 is just around the corner then they will need that server capacity for it. So if I'm right BF:2 will lose it's ranking, leaving the way open for BF:3

i think the patches have allways been good exactly what have they broke? getting rid of the dolphin dive and the bunny hop was quality!

Never mind what theyve broke why don't they fix what so many people have asked for over the past yr or so a true widescreen option instead of having to frig the game link to stretch the screen

For a game that plays so well it has loads of faults. The in game server browser is utter rubbish. Beond the issues with game phisics the game is poorly coded.
It's still a memory and prosseor hog. Computers are three or four times faster than they were when the game was new. BF:2 will still give your PC a workout. On high settings 2Gb of RAM is bearly enough, run it under Vista and you need more the 2Gb. Not only can it not handle multi core CPU's (not a great surprice) but multi core CPU's confuse it!
