Who knows, Just like every MoH all of the publicity is going on about "authenticity". Thing is their slavish devotion to the authentic has resulted in in-balance and poor game play. I love the idea of an accurate weapons in the single player but it can become problematic in MP. Anyone remember Pacific assault? Amazing SP game but no one wanted to be a Jap in MP cos to weapons were under powered.
As this MoH is going to be Special forces against Special forces in MP that shouldn't be an issue. It's using the same engine as BF:3 so we know it's going to look lush. There is going to be destruction. I would like to say it's going to be "CoD like" with a twist, but CoD was a direct lift from the original MoH. As such I don't think it's fair to say "CoD like" as MoH created that type of game play. Anyhow it's going to be "CoD like!" What is CoD like these days as there are now two distinctive types of CoD? Modern Warfare vs Black Ops.
If we look back on MoH:2010 it had some good bits and bad ones. Firstly the bad ones... Poor support for bug fixes, Poor hit detection/net code (getting shot behind cover) There was also an issue with some of the weapons affecting game play. On the larger maps rifles and snipers could all too easily pin you down and it made the objectives impossible. So the big map game would quickly becomes a meat grinder.
The good bits (should) come to this new game. Being able to jump on and over anything. Walking over roof tops, climbing sandbags. The reward system was great, it was less about kills and more about objectives. Some of the rewards helped you score big with offensive weapon strikes but others helped everyone in your team. Offensives/Defensive reward system, good for team work.
As for team work we should see something between BF:3 and CoD. As in BF:3 if your team is to win you have to work together. And CoD were team work is not needed, and all you need from your team is for them not to suck and bleed away all of the points cos they are shit.
So I would think, we should end up with a fast paced objective based FPS. With the eye candy, movement animation and destruction from Battlefield:3.
The timing sucks as usual with the release of MoH:Warfigher as it comes out a month before Black Ops:II. I will get the game, I enjoyed the last one and I have every MoH since Armed Assault. Thing is I'm getting Black Ops:II as well as it's been pre-ordered for me by RudeDog as a thank you for all of the work I do on his FPSAdmin site. There is also the small matter of ArmA:III as well just to mix things up.
My only fear is they don't feck it up, as we know EA has a long history of dropping the ball with MoH. Fingers crossed they wont do it to us again.
