LOL whats with the red hat?
Got to say I did quite enjoy those first few games, and boy its good to be back online
mind you I'm not sure how long that will last I found the game to be kinda 'shallow' if that makes sense
mind you its good to see everyone on and having a laugh which is what its all about I suppose

The red hat is a christmas mod, I have turned it off but since added others. Just have a look in the Workshop for things you might like.

The "workshop" is the home for all of the mods made for the game. Back in the bad old days you would have to search a site, download the mod files and put them in the game folder. With the Valve Steam Workshop you find the mod you like the look of in Steam and simply click on the "Subscribe" button. That's it, Steam downloads the mod and installs it. Click unsubscribe and it's gone. There are many cosmetic mods like the silly Christmas hat one I was running. Some are just daft like the John Cena theme tune that plays if you are lastman standing. I tried it so you don't have to. Very funning the first time it happens but as I was the only one that could hear it... Yea it was dumb. There are sound mods that give you star wars blaster sounds or hyper realistic sound mods that make the game feel more immersive. There are lots of soldier skins. Some just make things look cool but others can make it easer to tell friend from enemy. There are much bigger mods that make for total conversions of the game. The one making a big splash at the moment in the community is a WWII mod. It looks really interesting but for the time being requires you to swap to the experimental version of the game. Once you can run the mod without swapping to experimental I really want to give that mod a look because I love the WWII era for shooters. So far it only has two maps so there is quite a lot more work that needs to be done, but it really looks good. So if you want to have a look at some of the cosmetic mods this link will show you what is available. steamcommunity.com/workshop/browse/?appid=222880
