Battalion 1944 has had a few confused as it replicates the pace and movement of the older games. So bunny hopping and very fast paced gameplay. I think people were expecting a more realism. It is almost identical to MoH/CoD play style of 15 years ago.

Battalion 1944 is the one I put some money into. Once the game is out I'll be getting a copy. Battalion 1944 is supposed to be heavily inspired by classic Call of Duty, especially the movement and feel. The group behind the game were responsible for a popular mod for CoD:4 that returned the movement and feel from the original CoD. So it is going to have an old school shooter feel, rather than realism. Days of War will have a more modern feel and looks like an update of Day of Defeat.
So the two games are heavily inspired by old games, one on CoD and the other Day of Defeat.
