Hi everyone.
Long time no see. In another life I used to be known as [-GI-] DrDoooMuk.
See you still have a clan going, are you still active? Do you still occasionally play online together?
I still occasionally bump into PIP down the pub, I saw the clan icon on his steam page.
Hope you are all well anyway.
If anyone fancies a game of something sometime, give us a shout, be nice to play online with you again, Cheers !

We are still here, the guys that never had the gumption to leave. I think there was something like 50 members when I joined back when we were playing MoH:BT back in 2002 I think. There is only a handful of us left. The clan went through a couple of name changes, but we have been the [-44-] for a good number of years. Heck the name [-44-] comes from it being [-GI-] on a phone. How long has it been since we all had dumb phones texting by hitting the numbers???
We can be found playing together most every Sunday evening. Other days too for those wanting a game but at least on a Sunday night.

We are sort of between games at the moment. We have spent most of the last five plus years playing Battlefield. However, Battlefield One has been a disappointment, an expensive one to boot!
In the last year or so we have gravitated towards coop games. Playing together against bots has been the most entertaining. Not sure if it's the toxic community's of most games these days. That or we are just getting old and slow! There is a limit to how many times you can get spawn killed or dropped by some foul mouthed 14 year old and still find it fun.
Most everyone has Rainbow 6: Siege, it's nice and cheap and would appear to run well on any hardware. Several of the guys have been playing Ghost Recon Wildlands. Not my favourite but OK if you like that type of thing. We sometimes return to Insurgency, still a great game. We are looking forward to Insurgency Sandstorm and a couple of other games coming out this year.

I still play BF1 and BF4 online, occasionally play BF2 modded. I own R6:Siege although haven't played it much online.
I have ended up playing a lot of early access games on Steam for some reason. I crowdfunded Project Cars which was a pretty cool experience, getting a link to a new build of it once a week for about 3 years before it was released...........even better was getting paid once every 3 months for a few years with the profits it generated.
I know what you mean about the idiots online. Like I said, I have really enjoyed some of the early access games, but realised very early on that most of the communities for some of these games are really toxic. I looked into renting an ARK survival evolved server for me, my girlfriend and some friends, but when you work out the cost (and do some digging and find out exactly what abysmal hardware the servers are running on), I ended up building my own dedicated server and chucked it in my spare bedroom, The joys of not having any kids, lol.
It's only an I7 @ 4Ghz, 16GB RAM, and games on an SSD, but works perfect with no lag with 12 people playing v bots which is the most I've tried so far.
One of the best decisions I have ever made, paid for itself in under 12 months with the spare pc bits I had lying around compared to renting a server. Co-op heaven without any idiots.....well, at least they are idiots I know, lol.
I currently have installed on the server if anyone is interested is some gaming at some point :
Ark Survival Evolved 7 Days to Die Terraria Insurgency Day of Infamy Starbound ArmA2 ArmA3 Empyrion Galactic Survival The Forest Rust Red Orchestra 2 Goldeneye : Source Il2 1946 Left for Dead 1 & 2 Killing Floor DISCORD/TEAMSPEAK
I can add more games if anyone fancies trying something not on the list, being in [-GI-] was such a good laugh, I'm just looking to have some online gaming with like minded people again.

Nice to hear from you m8. Most of us have Arma 3, Red Orchestra 2, Insurgency and a hell of a lot more games courtesy of Steam xmas sales and of course the good old Humble Bundles. It'll be nice to get some fresh blood joining in and boosting the numbers.
