Valve is working on a new Steam Chat experience. It is currently in beta and borrows many features from very popular gaming chat client Discord. This has the potential to replace TeamSpeak. This could have been said about Discord but who needs another chat/messenger thing to sign up to. Well, we all have a Steam account. Teamspeak is the last thing we have that costs the clan real money.
It might be worth looking into as a potential way of saving us from having to run a PayPal account and collecting money from the member. That is of course if it's any good...
These features are coming soon to Steam but if you want to have a look at it early you can click a button in steam to try the beta.

Steam chat is now out of beta and openly available to all.
This could replace TeamSpeak, much like Discord but with tighter integration with the games played.

The voice chat works very well, one thing to note is the default is to have the mic on all of the time. After listing to Ghostie eating crisps we discovered the setting for "push to talk"...
At the top of your friend's list is the small cog to open settings. From there you can set up a push to talk button.
