10 hours of free gameplay through a generous donation Hogan I have got to play the game.
It looks amazing but it's frostbyte so that's no great surprise. From what little gameplay I have had so far (1 hour) death comes quick but not in an unjust way. Visual identification is key. Good gun control is essential. So it's more down to skill than aiming a nads whisker under a magic orange Dorito.
I played as an engineer and if I'm, to be honest, I spent way more time building and repairing stuff than I did shooting. I did get revived loads so that's an improvement. This was on an open server with rando public and the fact I was revived shows promise.
So from what little I have seen it's a thumbs up from me. We need to get as many of us on a server as we can to see how team play works.

"Official" release date is 20th November, but it's been available on Origin Access since the 9th.

After playing some more, it looks amazing but it should given the cost. Gameplay is OK, it's more Battlefield, just that. No better than BF:3 or BF:4 but better than BF:One. It's not a game I would buy just to play for myself. However, if the clan as a whole decide to get then I will too.
I still think it's overly expensive for what is just an OK game. There are plenty of OK games that cost 20 quid not 60! We would be paying the extra for the eye candy rather than the gameplay. WW3 is an OK game without the eye candy and that costs 25 quid. So is Insurgency Sandstorm for that matter. BFV is not a better game it just looks amazing.
I got my fingers burnt with BF:One, and expensive game that doubled in price to 80 quid once I bought the premium only for us to stop playing a few weeks later. 80 chuffing quid for a game I have less than 10 hours on!
So, in my opinion, BFV is rated only a "C-" for gameplay, an "A" eye candy and a "D" for value. We can have fun playing it together but we can play any old shit together and have fun.

If BF:One had been any good we would have spent the last year playing that. It would be a no-brainer to make the move to BFV. It's only because it was a bit crap sent up on a wild goose chase playing all manner of games trying to find a replacement.
If BFV is the one then that's fine, a game we can all get and play together then that's great. I hope it's not another BFOne that all. Tonight will tell I guess as most of us have it in some way even if it's only the 10-hour trial. I will definitely be going for the Origin access basic as there are several games on the list I want to play. There is also the 10 hour trial of Battlefront 2 that I'm going to use to go through the single player.
If we don't go for BFV full time the Origin Access Basic could provide a useful list of older titles we would be able to play together. That way choosing what game to play is a simple as installing it and having a game night. It's only 20 quid a year, that shouldn't be beyond the means of us, just a case of installing the game in question. Play it till we get bored and jumping on something else later.
