I am wanting to ask what is really happening and not attempting to promote any political response. But what is happening?
Over here the Brexit thing was a thing which you supported or not. However it is now being seen as a bit of a joke. Both sides were/are appropriately supported, but now it seems the 'Yes' and the 'NO' also have the 'If' and the 'Maybe' joining in.
Believe it or not it is high in the news here so some local thoughts/opinions would be welcome.
Me
Ps. Or do I really need to come back to find out.

Its what is known as a political clusterf**k. There isn't an MP who knows their arse from their elbow, without doubt they are all are a bunch of self-centered megalomaniacs incapable of doing the greater good, they should all be marooned on a desert island where they can continue to bore the f**k out of each other like they have bored the rest of the world.
I'm getting off the soapbox now, peace be with you brother, here endeth the lesson.

Hello mate, long time no see, well on here anyhow.
Brex has been a cluster f**K since day one. Cameron calling for the referendum in an attempt to finally get his own party under control. Working on the assumption we would vote remain, shutting up the far right in the Tory party much, in the same way, the Scottish referendum ended the vocal calls for Scottish independence. He was wrong!
Then the far right broke almost every electoral law in their campaign but somehow the result is still considered legitimate!?!
It's been calculated that enough leave voters have now passed away simply from old age that if the vote was held today and everyone voted the same the result would be reversed. Those old f**kers with their rose-tinted glasses have royally f**ked everyone from the grave.
My personal opinion on our future membership: If I had a time machine! I would go back in time and we would have never joined the EU in the first place. That or jumped back in time to prevent the EEC becoming the EU. There are some fundamental issues with the EU that are really hard for the UK to be part of. "Ever closer union" the creation of the United States of Europe is not something that sits well with anyone in this country.
I don't have a time machine, so that's not going to happen. We have been a part of the EU for long enough for our economy to become completely dependant on continued membership of the EU. Like two trees with their roots entangled that they can not be separated without an axe. The issue with taking an axe to the triangle root ball is the EU is naturally going to defend its own roots. For us to leave we can only cut our own roots in our attempt to free ourselves. The harm this will cause to every aspect of our economy will hurt everyone. Business will fail, people will be searching for jobs that are no longer there. Food will rot in the fields, the hospitals will fill with untreated patients.
There will be mass layoffs as international companies move their manufacturing to an EU member state. The country will enter a deep economic depression. We will, of course, emerge out the other side, we always do. But what type of country will we have once we can stand back up again on our own two feet and hold our heads up high? Remember how upbeat everyone was back in 2012 during the Olympics? Inclusive, modern forward thinking nation standing proudly in front of the world. I don't think we will ever see that again.
We will be seen as a small damp island nation, insignificant and alone. The Westminster government will turn to what remains of the commonwealth and if we are lucky we may get tea and sympathy. They will then turn to the US, they will help but as always they will only do it for money. The US only does things for money and self-interest.
It's a glooming picture for sure. All because some old gits with too much money and some opportunist jumped on their back. They spent their money to persuade the people to do something that sounded good but inevitable hurt them in the long run.
We are f**ked! and some people will have street parties and cheer waving their little made in China union jack flags drinking their German beer eating American beef burgers driving their French cars. Thinking how British they are.

Unfortunately it is at this point I admit my age. I was that person or among the people who voted to join the EEC, to me it was the best way forward. I didn't vote for the Eu, but that is natural progression and has to be accepted.
Upon reflection I still believe I did the right thing, however what scares me now is the outcome for the UK. One vote said join, the next vote said leave, do people get another vote down the line or is it final? if it is final then what of the vote in 1973/1974 (can't remember what year it was exactly) why is that not final?
Unfortunately the 'British fiasco' is becoming Larger than the 'Trump fiasco' over here and I say fiasco as that is how it is seen here, the word 'farce' crops up quite a lot.
I just hope you all over there do not go the way of a 'No Deal Brexit'
Why do I care so much you may ask, Well one I support the UK and secondly and obviously least is if the Uk leaves the Eu my local Gov' Pension will drop. (not that I have any self interest)
Keep me up to date

I have recently re-read all of the posts on this topic... Does anyone have an update or as they seem to promote over here you (ie the UK) after a year or so, are still in the same sh*t?
